Daily Cleaning Responsibilities
These small, manageable tasks should only take a few minutes but make a big difference… so don’t be lazy about it!
- Make the Bed: Start your day by making the bed, which instantly makes your bedroom feel organized. If you’re not already doing this, get this habit started yesterday.
- Wipe Down Kitchen Counters: After meals, wiping down counters helps keep food crumbs and stains from building up.
- Wash the Dishes: Run the dishwasher or hand wash dishes daily to avoid buildup in the sink. Rule: don’t get to sleep without this being done.
- Tidy Up Clutter: Spend 5-10 minutes picking up toys, papers, or other items that may have accumulated during the day. If you have kids, get them to help!
- Empty Trash Cans: Ensure you empty your kitchen trash regularly to prevent odors. You know the smell we’re talking about and you don’t want that.
Weekly Cleaning Responsibilities
We recommend the Next Clean Basic Clean once a week for busy homes & offices. If you are on a clean every two weeks, be sure to select the deep-clean!
- Vacuum and Mop Floors: Dirt, hair & dust accumulate throughout the week, so vacuum and mop high-traffic areas to keep them clean.
- Dust Surfaces: Dust all flat surfaces, including shelves, tables, and electronics. Pay attention to commonly forgotten areas like light fixtures or ceiling fans.
- Clean Bathrooms: TBH, this should be done ERREDAY. Scrub those toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors to keep your bathroom spotless. Don’t forget to wipe down bathroom counters and floors.
- Change Bed Linens: Don’t be stanky! Wash and replace your bed sheets for a fresh, clean sleeping environment.
- Clean Kitchen Appliances: Wipe down the exterior of your stove, microwave, and refrigerator. Make sure you clean inside the microwave as well.
Monthly Cleaning Responsibilities
Monthly cleaning tasks involve deeper cleaning and organizing areas that don’t need attention as frequently but are still crucial to maintaining a hygienic home. Call Next Clean once a month minimally!
- Clean Baseboards and Walls: Dust and grime can accumulate along baseboards and walls. If you’re not scheduling your Next Clean with us then wipe these down to maintain a clean look throughout your home.
- Wipe Down Windows and Mirrors: Clean your windows and mirrors to remove your kids greasy chicken fingerprints, tooth paste splatter, smudges, and streaks, allowing light to shine through and giving your home a polished look.
- Clean Inside Kitchen Appliances: Remove crumbs and spills from inside your oven, fridge, and dishwasher to keep them running efficiently and free of odors.
- Vacuum Under Furniture: Move larger furniture pieces and vacuum or sweep underneath to catch dust and debris that’s out of sight. Don’t let dust bunnies living rent-free!
- Organize Closets and Cabinets: Take time to declutter and reorganize your storage areas. Get rid of items you no longer need and ensure everything has its place.
